Evidence/activity/anecdote: Evidence for this standard is my teacher blog. I update my blog once a week to let parents know what is happening in the classroom. I have tried to get the students into the routine of reading the blog as well. Also, each month I send home a calendar with important dates on it.
Impact on student’s learning: I feel that being organized and communicating with parents form a partnership in each child’s education. Students know that I post on the blog weekly. I encourage parents and their child to talk about what they’re learning and what they’re doing in class. I encourage students to mark deadlines on their monthly calendar to help with organizing themselves and fostering time management skills.
